Love Child

Love Child is an Australian drama series written for television and created by Heartbreak High's Sarah Lambert. The series is set at the end of 1960's and in the 1970's, and revolves around the comings and goings of the staff and residents at the Kings Cross Hospital and Sydney's Stanton House, two fictional locations. The story is inspired by the stories of forced adoption in Australia, where unmarried mothers were forced to put their newborn up for adoption, something for which former Australian PM Julia Gillard apologised publicly. Love Child was a commercial success from the first episode onwards, something that is illustrated by the numerous awards and award nominations the show has received over the years. These include three Logie Awards and Golden Nymph Award nominations for Best Drama Series and Best Actor in a Drama Series (Jonathan LaPaglia).
