7.30 is an Australian news and current affairs television program that replaced the popular nightly current affairs program The 7.30 Report on ABC1 and ABC News 24 in 2011. Several critics have described the show as a crucial platform in Australia's public discussion. It has often been lauded for its direct and sometimes hard-hitting interview style, especially when politics are involved. Until the end of 2014 7.30 was also broadcasting so-called state editions of the show, which were local versions of the show that were made available nationally during the weekends. There were eight separate state editions of the show, including for Tasmania, New South Wales and the Northern Territory, that covered local current affairs until ABC was restructured in 2015.
