9-1-1 is an American series created for television by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, who in various combinations have been responsible for big TV hits as Glee, Nip/Tuck, and American Horror Story. This show follows the work and lives of several first responders in the city of Los Angeles, namely fire-fighters, police officers, paramedics, and dispatchers. Following the success of the show, network Fox announced a spin-off series under the name Lone Star, featuring Rob Lowe (The West Wing, Parks and Recreation) and Liv Tyler (Lord of the Rings, The Strangers). The cast and the action are some of the most-lauded aspects of 9-1-1 and one of the main reasons for its quick success. The show has been nominated for various awards, including a BET Award for Best Actress, a Teen choice Award for Choice Breakout TV Star, and an NAACP Image Award in the category Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, which was won by Connor Dean who portrays Tucker.
