HomelandHomeland is an American thriller series written for television, and based on the acclaimed Israeli series Prisoners of War. The show revolves around CIA officer Carrie Mathison (played by Claire Danes), brilliant at her work but suffering from bipolar personality disorder, and US Marine Nicholas Brody (played by Damian Lewis), a sniper for the Corps who at the start of the series is freed after 8 years of captivity by Al Qaeda and who is suspected of having been "turned" by the enemy in an attempt to attack the United States on home soil.
