Insight is an American drama series written for television that aired weekly between 1960 and 1983. Roman Catholic priest Ellwood E. Kieser was the creator of the show, which he used to spread spiritual enrichment through television. The series presents a different storyline and a different set of characters every week, while exploring moral themes like freedom, love and meaning through different forms, including comedy, melodrama and fantasy. Insight was one of the references in the field of religious television in its time, which is illustrated by the the four consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Religious Programming between 1981 and 1984. The show has featured many well-known actors and actresses, including Grammy Award-winner Beau Bridges, variety host and actress Carol Burnett and Golden Globe-winner John Ritter.
