John goes back to his roots to Australia's culinary capital - Melbourne - where he grew up and where he did his apprenticeship. He stops off at one of the hottest restaurants in town and cooks up ricotta and Swiss chard ravioli with an Italian mama. After that, John catches up with his old mentor, John Dench, and feels the pressure as he cooks for him polenta with mushrooms and gorgonzola. Then it’s down to surfers' paradise - Torquay - where John fires up the grill for a beach barbie. On the menu there's marinated lamb souvlaki wraps and grilled figs with yogurt and pistachio praline.
