Judge John Deed

Judge John Deed is a British legal drama series written for television and produced by the BBC. It was created by English writer and TV producer Gordon Newman, known for successful series as Law and Order and The Nation's Health, and stars English actor Martin Shaw (The Chief, Inspector George Gently) as the titular character. As Justice Deed, a High Court judge, pursues real justice in the face of many obstacles, he is often confronted with barrister Jo Mills QC, portrayed by the English actress Jenny Seagrove (A Woman of Substance, Local Hero), who is also a frequent object of Judge Deed's desire. Over the years, the show has been nominated for several awards, including the Award of Merit at the 2005 Guild of Television Cameramen Awards for Stephen Roach' work on the series, which he won, and a Screen Nation Award in the category Diversity in Drama Production.
