Music From The Home Front

Music from the Home Front was a concert held across Australia and New Zealand in honor of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, as well as the health workers who were at the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic response. It took place on April 25th, 2020, and was broadcast live on television by the Nine Network in Australia, Channel Three in New Zealand, and on Youtube internationally. Almost 1,2 million Australian watched the concert as it ran for over 3,5 hours. Contrary to many other such initiatives, the main goal of Music from the Home Front was not to raise funds. Australian entrepreneur and project initiator Michael Gudinski stated that the main focus needed to be on the frontline workers and the Anzacs (Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations n history). The only fundraising element was a commercial for Support Act and an ad for the frontline workers and hospital professionals, but it was up to the viewership to decide on donations.
