Noughts And Crosses

Noughts + Crosses is a British drama series created for television by English actor and playwright Toby Whithouse (Being Human, No Angels) and based on the Noughts & Crosses novel series by British author Malorie Blackman. The show is set in an alternate history where global society is dominated by darker-skinned people, called Crosses who control the lighter-skinned people, called Noughts. Against a background of discrimination and social unrest, the young Cross Persephone Hadley and Nought Callum McGregor fall in love. In the televised version of Noughts + Crosses, the roles of Persephone and Callum are portrayed by South African actress Masali Baduza (Trackers, The Fighter) and English actor Jack Rowan (Born to Kill, Peaky Blinders), respectively. They are joined by a talented cast, including English actress Helen Baxendale (Cold Feet, Friends) as Callum's mother, British actor Paterson Joseph (Casualty, Peep Show) as Home Secretary Kamal Hadley, and British actor Josh Dylan (Allied, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) as Callum's older brother.
