SAS Australia

SAS Australia is a reality television program that sees different Australian celebrities compete in a series of taxing physical and psychological challenges in harsh environment, led by an elite team of ex-Special Forces members. The two-week training course is meant to replicate the notoriously tough Special Air Services selection in which the mental and physical capacities of the challengers are taken to the extreme. SAS Australia is based on the original British format, which also featured ex-United Kingdom Special Forces soldier Ant Middleton as Chief-instructor. Various celebrities have participated in the Australian version of the show, including comedian Merrick Watts, fitness professional Shannan Ponton, Miss Universe Australia 2006 Erin McNaught, and former rugby player Nick Cummins. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production of the show was halted in March 2020, but recommenced a few months later in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales in Australia.
