Fitzpatrick Referrals seeing an average of 3 emergencies a day. Lara the cat is one of these emergencies. Not only had she been missing for 12 days after jumping in the back of a delivery van but she had been hit by a car and attacked by a fox. But Noel is able to treat her by operating on her leg using a special plate to put it back together. Then there is 7 year old dog, Northern Inuit, Chief, who dislocated his hip whilst his owners are away on holiday. When they are told that the operation to fix him could cost in the region of six thousand pounds they opt to put him down. However Noel isn’t convinced and so once they are back he offers them a private financial arrangement to enable Chief to have his life saving operation of securing a new implant. Also in this episode we meet in house vet Susan and the practises family dog Bertie. Although 12 years old and ruptured ligaments, severe arthritis, dislocated knee caps and slipped spinal disc the team do not give up and opt to give him a couple more years by operating on him.
