The Curse of the Chippendales is an American documentary consisting of four parts created by award-winning producers Jonathan and Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man) for Amazon Studios and streaming service Discovery+. Chippendales is a famous touring dance group known for its male striptease shows and this documentary chronicles the darker sides of its members in the 80's as they deal with success and fame, but with rivalry, drugs, and paranoia at the same time. In The Curse of the Chippendales, the Chinn brothers provide viewers with a glimpse of life as a Chippendale at the very start of their success, not knowing the misfortune and tragedy that would eventually follow. The documentary includes many interviews with original Chippendales, their partners in love and in business, and the people in the group's direct vicinity, which gives it a dramatic and at times tragic credibility.
