The Good Doctor is an American medical drama based on a popular television series of the same name from South Korea. The original was written by Park Jae-Bum, but it was actor Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Hawaii Five-O) who bought the rights and adapted the series for the American and English-speaking markets. David Shore, creator of the hugely successful medical drama House MD, eventually developed The Good Doctor for television.
