While investigating a bloody massacre in a remote village in Eastern Serbia, a Security Intelligence Agency operative Petar finds himself in the centre of an everlasting conflict between the forces of light and darkness.
Natasa and Petar snatch Ida and take her to church where Father Branislav resides; Tomic searches for Natasa and Petar while they battle the forces of darkness.
Mitar ends up in a coma; police inspectors Blagojevic and Tomic invite well-known psychologist Natasa as a judicial witness as they take over the case; in 1976, sports commentator Mica Djuric's story begins.
Monk Tihon tries to convince Natasa that Ida is in danger; Mitar wakes up from the coma; Peter investigates on his own; in the 1970s, Mica visits his home village.
Petar returns to the village where Mitar committed the massacre and inquires about local customs, learning about a mysterious ceremony: the black wedding.
Petar meets local witch Mikula and witnesses the black wedding ceremony in the village; still sceptical, Natasa agrees to visit the witch; Natasa faces secrets from her past.
Following her visit with Mikula, Natasa begins believing Tihon's version of the story. Blagojevic and Tomic organise Mitar's transfer from hospital to the prison; in the '70s, Mica goes on a trip.
Nobody can figure out what Mitar is up to; Tomic remains unconvinced by Natasa and Petar's story; in the 1970s, the police try to work out why Mica committed the massacre.
Police inspector Tomic suspects Petar and Natasa are the culprits; Natasa and her daughter flee to Natasa's aunt's village; Petar chooses to protect Natasa at any cost.
Natasa becomes a fugitive as she investigates the mystery about her mother in an asylum in Slovenia; Tomic chases Natasa; Petar realises Natasa lied to him about the past.
