While jogging, Kewei reflects her life with her parents years ago. She remembers them cleaning the house, then, her father being taken away by the police, and later her mother passed away. Sun Shang, who is collecting scraps in the park, stops at what he is doing to watch a happy family of three.
Kewei comes to the diner. The business is buzzing, so she sits quietly sipping a glass of apple wine offered by the chef. She waits until all the customers have left before giving the chef a new wallet. He praises her good taste. They drink and chat. Love is in the air.
The chef lost the wallet, a gift from Kewei. Sun Shang returns the wallet to him and is invited in to have a meal. They talk about Kewei and her preference of soy sauce noodles with a runny egg. Sun Shang is deeply touched. He suggests that the chef sprinkle some white sesame seeds on top of the noodles next time when he cooks for Kewei.
Kewei’s father used to run the Disco Restaurant. He was making soy sauce noodles for Kewei when the police came to arrest him.
Kewei’s father Sun Shang was having trouble keeping his restaurant business, having to look after his sick wife and young Kewei. (His wife) Bai Ling had to undergo kidney dialysis. Sun Shang was making soy sauce noodles for Kewei in his restaurant when he saw the police coming. He quickly ran away.
