Jonah from Tonga ?is an Australian mockumentary-style comedy series for television. The series revolves around Jonah Takalua, a 14-year Australian boy whose origins lie on the island of Tonga, a character that had already been introduced in an earlier series called Summer Heights High by the same creator, comedian Chris Lilley. Jonah tends to get into trouble, especially at school, and the premise of Jonah from Tonga is him being punished and sent back to Tonga by his parents to stay with their family on the island. Jonah from Tonga was produced by Princess Pictures and Chris Lilley, in cooperation with ABC (Australian Broadcasting Company) and HBO. Most of the scenes at the school were recorded at a school in the suburbs to the west of Melbourne called The Grange P-12 College.
