Season 2
When large, unusual birds show up in Jet's back yard, the kids start an investigation. The kids research, observe, consult with Dr Rafferty, and find out the birds are snow geese and are on their annual bird migration.
It's a beautiful day and the kids are excited that they will get to go surfing at the beach, since Dr Skelley has offered to take them all! They head out in the morning, only to discover that the ocean has moved way back.
The kids are using Sean's telescope to look at two asteroids in the night sky and notice that one is brighter than the other. They ask Dr Rafferty, and she explains about albedo, the reflectivity of an object.
The kids wish they could see a star up close, and realise that our own sun is actually a star, just like the little twinkling stars far away - it just looks different because it's closer!
Sunspot is acting very strange lately: he's grumpy, irritable, and won't do his usual favourite things (he even turns down eating a giant hoagie!). The kids ask Carrot and Celery to help understand what is wrong with him.
After Sean does a show of super cool things involving magnets, Jet is blown away by the incredible power of an arth magnet. The kids go on a journey of discovery around the neighbourhood, playing with simple bar magnets.
The kids are waiting for the Sun to come out so they can play "shadow tag," but there have been a few overcast days, and they're getting frustrated. If they could count on seeing the Sun, they'd be able to plan their games.
Mindy watches the Sun set and tells Jet and Sydney that she can see it move across the sky every day. Sydney and Jet are having a hard time explaining that the Sun doesn't move but that the Earth is moving around the Sun.
Mindy has been told that she needs to go to bed when the Sun goes down, and her mother has shown her how to hold up her fingers horizontally against the horizon to check to see approximately how long it will be before Sunset.
When Sydney comes to the treehouse to invite Mindy to go on a space adventure, Mindy confesses she likes the idea of going somewhere in space but isn't sure where to start, because she realises how much is out there to see.
While making a cake, Carrot and Mindy are short one ingredient, so they head to the store in the Family Wagon. Carrot accidentally pushes a wrong button on the control panel and - whoa! - the wagon takes off into outer space!
In a game of telephone, Mindy tells Jet some misinformation that she learned from her friend Lillian, and Jet then tells Sean and Sydney. But Sean and Sydney question this "fact" and find out where Jet got his information.
All the kids - Jet, Sydney, Sean, Mindy and Sunspot - want to use the treehouse, and everyone thinks they're only leaving a little bit of mess behind, but finally the treehouse becomes uninhabitable because it's so messy!
Jet sees his first rainbow and doesn't understand how light, which is always clear, can be separated into different colours. They study rainbows, which leads Sydney to tell Jet and Mindy about the legend of leprechauns.
After the kids successfully grow potato plants in Jet's back yard garden, Jet wants to try to grow them on Mars. Celery takes them to Mars with some small potato plant sprouts to try their experiment.
The Boxwood Terrace Kid-Kart Derby is days away. Jet, Mindy, Sydney and Sean form teams to build Kid-Karts and, more importantly, batteries and panels to comply with the race rule - vehicles must be powered by solar energy.
Jet and friends try to redesign Jet 2 to be their own personal Mars rover, but discover that Mars' rocky terrain is a challenge. The kids make their own "Mars Yard" replica in Jet's yard, trying to design the right wheels.
Mindy has finally turned 5 and is excited that she is now officially allowed to go to space. However, when the kids come over to take her, Mindy's friend Lillian has just come over with a tea set for her birthday present.
