Released by Gallagher’s men, Chris returns to his car but everything he’s been through in the past week finally catches up with him and he breaks down, unable to work out what to do next or how to get himself out of the impossible situation he finds himself in.

In a dingy pub, Casey, Marco and her granddad, Joe, try to sell the drugs, but the buyer isn’t impressed by the motley trio and, during the meeting, long-running tensions with her grandad come to the surface. Joe is furious when the deal falls through and Marco is forced to step in to protect her.

Chris finally opens up to Rachel about his feelings of mental despair, and they realise that they have much in common as Rachel reveals she is having a difficult time with her partner, Steve.

Chris plans to hand the drugs in, until Carl makes him an offer he cannot refuse. Rachel strikes a deal with Mullen, but Chris' behaviour leaves her conflicted.

Chris must juggle rookie Rachel while tracking down Casey after Chris threatens his family. Meanwhile, Casey puts her trust in a friend to hide her from Carl.

Police response officer Chris is struggling to keep a grip on his mental health and marriage when he is offered a path to redemption in the form of a young heroin addict.
