A Current Affair is an American television news and current affairs show that ran between 1986 and 1996, and for a short period in 2005. What started as a late-night New York City broadcast soon grew to become a show covering stories from all over the United Stated that were missed or ignored by the dominant networks of the time. A Current Affair generally covers stories in the categories of entertainment and gossip in a tabloid style, though it does not shy away from covering a serious news story every once in a while. Various critics have described A Current Affair as an everyman's version of the popular and famous newsmagazine show 60 Minutes.
