Delia's How To Cook
Delia's How To Cook is a British cooking program for television in the format of a very simple-to-follow cooking course for people of all ages and abilities. One of Britain's most well-known celebrity chefs, English cook and television presenter Delia Smith returns to the very roots of cooking to look at the techniques and the staple ingredients that underline some of the most traditional recipes from the British cuisine. As a result of the show's success, Delia's How To Cook has resulted in what is now known as the “Delia effect”. It has been claimed that the series has led to a 10% rise in eggs sales across Great Britain, while Smith's use of certain ingredients and utensils could cause massive sell-outs overnight. As a result, the term “Delia effect” has become a commonly used phrase in Britain to describe a run on a previously poor-selling products as a result of a recommendation by a high-profile party.
