From That Small Island: The Irish StorySeason 1, Episode 2 - Contested Identities: The Coming Of The English

We begin this episode by taking a snapshot of Europe in the year 1,000 and Ireland's place within it. We trace the story of the Normans, or as they called themselves, the English. We follow the new colony as it quickly established itself with the building of castles and new towns. We look at how one of the biggest catastrophes in European history, the coming of The Black Death affected Ireland.
