Caches of mysterious notes were unearthed from the ruins of the Auschwitz concentration camp, where mass exterminations of Jews took place. They were written by Jewish men who assisted in the killing of their fellow Jews. The notes were badly degraded and difficult to decipher, but advances in digital technology have made the content of many of them legible. The program tracks three of the men who wrote these clandestine notes, using their accounts and confessions to explore why they aided the mass killing.
