Mighty Trains is a Canadian documentary program created for television and produced by Discovery Channel Canada. The premise of the series is straightforward: each episode of the show revolves around a different famous train from around the world. These include the Glacier Express, in the Swiss Alps, the Canadian, the transcontinental Via Rail Canada-operated passenger train, and the Ghan, the passenger train running on a 3'000 kilometer long track between Adelaide and Darwin in Australia. Mighty Trains takes viewers around the world on trips on some of the world's most famous and impressive railways. The show features plenty of input from train managers, track inspectors and other professionals, as well as passengers.
