Rage Guest Programmer
Rage is an Australian all-night music video program that has been running since 1987 on Friday and Saturday nights. For the Saturday night editions, the show often invited bands and artists to host the program by selecting their favourite music videos of all time and introducing them during the show. The insights this format gave into the preferences and influences of the bands and artists in question quickly became a very popular and highly regard part of Rage's programming. Australian singer and front man of the rock band The Cruel Sea Tex Perkins and lead vocalist of the Australian alternative rock band Powderfinger are the most frequent guest programmers with five shows each, but many more big names have appeared on the show over the years. These include the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, American rockband Audioslave, Moby (on three occasions), and Metallica (on three occasions as well).
