The Architecture The Railways Built - Season 1, Episode 5 - Metroland
Tim follows his family’s roots by exploring the architecture of Metroland – the area around the Metropolitan Railway running from Baker Street in central London out to the north west through Middlesex, Hertfordshire, and into Buckinghamshire. The railway company cleverly bought the land either side of the line and then built houses on it, providing itself with a constant supply of paying passengers, commuting to London for decades to come.
