Dinner Date is a British cooking and dating game show that is produced by Hat Trick Productions and first aired on ITV. The show's premise is quite straight-forward: it involves a male or female guest going for dinner at three different people's houses on consecutive nights. Each host usually prepares a special or interesting dish and this process is shown throughout the episodes as well. Each host rates the guest of the episode, but it is the guest who finally has to pick one of the three hosts for a restaurant date. As a result of the show's success, different versions of Dinner Date have spawned over the years. These include a (British) celebrity version, featuring well-known names such as reality star Amy Childs, So Solid Crew member Romeo Dunn, and television presenter Matt Johnson. The format was exported to other markets as well, including South Africa, the Netherlands, and India. The Australian version of Dinner Date aired on the Seven Network and was hosted by French restaurateur and television presenter Manuel Feildel.
