Great House Revival

Great House Revival is a TV show on SBS ONE. Great House Revival is an Irish reality house revival series created by award-winning Irish architect Hugh Wallace (Home of the Year, My Bungalow Bliss) for Ireland’s national broadcaster RTÉ. Each season, this charming show introduces its viewers to six homeowners in Ireland who have taken it upon themselves to restore and transform their – often derelict – properties into modern homes boasting all they need and wish for, all the while saving little pieces of Ireland’s architectural heritage. Great House Revival does not just feature simple homes, but various types of buildings and structures with architectural and historical value. This goes from the renovation of an expensive 1850’s regency style mansion and a historic doctor’s house and dispensary to the restoration of a wonderful former Church of Ireland rectory from 1800 and the creation of a one-of-a-kind family home by combining three 1790’s agricultural barns, just to name a few examples of the projects presented by Wallace and his team.
