Life On The Outside is an Australian reality mini-series consisting of three parts created for television by ITV Studios Australia (Love Island, The Chase Australia) for SBS Australia and SBS On Demand. In the show, viewers follow four Australian households who have agreed to offer a spare room to a former convict for a period of 100 days. The idea behind the concept is to create a unique solution to the problem of recidivism, when a person relapses into criminal behaviour. Life On The Outside is presented by New Zealand actor and activist Danielle Cormack (Shortland Street, Xena. Warrior Princess). She guides viewers through this ground-breaking experiment as formerly incarcerated persons are starting their respective 100-day periods as part of a carefully selected household of strangers. They are not only offered room and board, but also around-the-clock access to a caseworker, various mentors and assistance programs.
