Scanning The Nile

In Scanning the Nile, a British nature and history documentary, an international team of scientists conducts a double scanning of the Nile in order to unveil its some of the many secrets that are still held by this mythical piece of our planet. With the help of state-of-the-art equipment, including an underwater robot equipped with a 4K camera, a light system, a military-grade measuring laser, and a sample analyser, the explores the river Nile down to 200 meters below the water surface. Scanning the Nile takes its viewers 5'000 years back in time on a quest to explore the river delta in a way like never before. This 4-part series takes us from the spring to the delta of the Nile,followed by an amazing mapping of the port of Alexandria at the times of Ptolemy and the Ancient Romans. Last but not the least, the researchers find out more about the remnants of a Neolithic village that French and Egyptian archaeologists have recently discovered.
