Yokayi Footy is an Australian sport panel television show created by Australian Indigenous musician and broadcaster Grant Hansen (The Marngrook Footy Show, Rich Dad Poor Dad) for TV channel NITV, and later the channels C31 and ABC2. The show focuses on Australian rulesFootballand is primarily aimed at an Indigenous audience. It was developed in the early 2000’s as a response to the criticism regarding the lack of Indigenous football commentators and hosts on both television and radio in Australia. Yokayi Footy is hosted by journalist and former professional AFL player Tony Armstrong (News Breakfast, Offsiders), former Brisbane Lions champion Daryl White, and Australian fitness instructor and television presenter Megan “Megz” Waters. Besides game analysis and coverage, the show also offers other entertainment, including community stories and guest spots for prominent Indigenous players.
