The War That Changed Us
The War That Changed Us is an Australian documentary series for television consisting of four parts and telling the stories of six Australians who lived through World War I. These people include soldier Archie Barwick, pro-war crusader Eva Hughes and army officer Pompey Elliott. Their stories have been constructed based on diaries, detailed letters to family members and newspaper reports. The War That Changed Us tells the story of Australian people being involved in the First World War, while at home millions of Australians argue about whether or not Australia should be participating in the Great War at all. Not only does it show the effects on the lives of these people, but also the effects on the Australia we know today.
