Liar is a British mystery thriller series written for television, created by Harry and Jack Williams, and produced by ITV and Sundance TV. The story revolves around Laura Nielson, an intelligent teacher groing through a tough breakup when she is set up on a date with a recently widowed surgeon called Andrew Earlham, who also has a son who attends Laura's school. Soon after their first date, it becomes clear that something has gone wrong and the situation quickly spirals out of control. Liar stars English Golden Globe Award-winning actress Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey, A Touch of Frost) as Laura Nielson and Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd (Titanic, Hornblower) as Andrew Earlham. There are two seasons in total, each consisting of six episodes the each run for 45 minutes. In Australia, the show is broadcast on the Seven Network, while it is broadcast by TVNZ in New Zealand.
