Emergence

Emergence is an American mystery thriller series for TV starring American actress Allison Tolman (Fargo, Good Girls) as police chief Jo Evans and Welsh actor Owain Yeoman (Turn, Generation Kill) as supposed investigative journalist from Reuters Benny Galagher. The premise of the series revolves around police chief Evans who finds a young child near the site of a mysterious incident and decides to take her in. The girl seems to have no memory whatsoever of what happened to her or at the site, but Evans' investigation quickly starts to uncover more and more mysterious and bizarre aspects of the whole situation. Despite very favourable reviews, both online and offline, and the comparisons with blockbusters such as Stranger Things and even E.T., the production of Emergence was limited to just a single season.
